Respite
Our respite service involves taking a child out of the home to offer families much needed support and time for themselves. We work with children on a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio depending on the needs of the child.

Our respite service offers support to the child as well as the family as we are continuously developing their skills while out in the community. We work closely with both the family and child to adapt to any changing needs. We look at each individual child’s interests and begin to incorporate skills in the community by taking them out to public places such as parks, nature trails, indoor play gyms etc. We develop independent life skills by planning activities such as cookery and baking, with support we encourage the child to make dishes we know they enjoy eating. We also develop independence bybringing the child into shops and supporting them to pick their own ingredients and pay for them.
Our respite service continues to have a huge positive impact on our families who avail of the service, they report it allows them time for themselves, the opportunity to work, time to give their other children a bit of one-on-one attention and time to do things they are unable to do without our service. We are continuously growing our respite service so we can offer more families this opportunity.
